Arnold Wickers Sr. brings an abundance of experience, knowledge, and expertise to our team. Retired from the Detroit Police Department at the rank of Commander, after a distinguished 30 year career. He serves as the first Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Coordinator for Wayne County and Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) since joining the team in 2017 along with being a Mental Health First Aid facilitator.
Arnold has an extensive background in emergency management, facilitating training in Incident Command Systems (ICS) and Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT).
He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command and the Naval Post Graduate Academy. Arnold also attend Harvard University, Kennedy School Executive Education, Leadership in Crisis: Preparation and Performance program.
Arnold is currently an adjunct Instructor for Schoolcraft College and Macomb County Community College, with areas of concentration including Terrorism, Homeland Security, Criminal Justice, Security, Emergency Management, and Cultural Diversity. Arnold has facilitated the following MCOLES approved components: Cultural Competence, Interpersonal Communications Skills, Ethics and Law Enforcement/Mental Health Services for the Wayne County Regional Police Academy.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Wayne State University and an MPA from Central Michigan University. In 1996 he obtained the coveted designation as a Certified Protection Professional (C.P.P.) recognized internationally as the gold standard in private security from A.S.I.S. International and has achieved Lifetime member status.
